Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I am very excited about being a part of your child's life this year. I want to share a little bit about myself so you have an idea of who your child spends their time with each day.
I grew up in Vanceboro and moved to Raleigh after graduating from WCHS. While in Raleigh, I attended Peace College and graduated with an Associate Arts Degree. I transfered to ECU and graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to New Bern and got my first teaching job at Graham A. Barden Elementary in Havelock. I taught second grade there for 10 years and had a wonderful experience. In 2001, I transferred to VFLE and I have now been teaching for 25 years. I was very lucky to get a 2nd grade position again AND to work with such a great team and staff. My assistant is Mrs. Felicia Anderson and I am truly blessed to
work with her everyday.
work with her everyday.
Aside from teaching, I am married and we have two children. Stephen is in 10th grade at New Bern High School and Anna is in 8th grade at Grover C. Fields Middle School. We are always on the go with swimming, volleyball, track and biking .
My family is very important to me and so are my students. I often refer to my students as "my kids" because in our year together they aren't just names on a class list, they become a part of my heart. I want you to know that I will do my very best this year to challenge the students and to prepare them for the next grade level. My goal is to work as a team with you and others in the school community to help the students succeed. Teamwork will help us achieve this goal. Please don't hesitate to call or email me if you ever have questions or concerns about your
child.
Sincerely,
Jessica Chesson-Lundberg
